Bank of China Providing Financial Services for 139th Canton Fair

The 139th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened in Guangzhou on April 15. Bank of China, as the exclusive global strategic partner of the Canton Fair, has leveraged its global strengths and comprehensive financial services to support the fair for 70 consecutive years.

Upgrading comprehensive financial services

The 139th Canton Fair is the first major international event in the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), serving as an important window for the world to gauge China's foreign trade momentum and global market trends.

BOC's poster for the Canton Fair features a jade disc incorporating images of ancient sailing ships, arch bridges, and exhibition halls.

The 139th Canton Fair has an exhibition area of 1.55 million square meters, with more than 32,000 participating companies spanning sectors such as intelligent manufacturing, quality home goods, innovative design, and low-carbon industries.

BOC has set up ten cash counters, eight ATMs, and five foreign exchange machines at the venue. Through an expedited processing channel for cross-border remittances and intelligent counters, BOC has facilitated swift business processing. It is providing e-CNY corporate and personal wallet services for exhibitors, supporting services such as tax payments, payroll distribution, merchant collections, and redemption arrangement. These services enable real-time settlement and clearing with e-CNY payments, reducing transaction costs.

As a core financial service provider for the Canton Fair, BOC has provided 20 service measures for domestic and international exhibitors and buyers, covering eight areas including financing services, account services, settlement services, specialized financial services, value-added support, going-global services, overseas services, and personal services. These measures were designed to help participants secure orders, expand markets, and conclude deals.

In line with China's green development strategy, BOC is committed to building its "BOC Green+" brand globally. It introduced dozens of green financial products across five categories, promoting green industry initiatives.

Digital services have been upgraded at the 139th Canton Fair, with cutting-edge technologies offering new intelligent experiences and enabling full-chain digital communication and collaboration for exhibitors, buyers, and service providers. BOC has been using this platform to extend online and offline financial services to global clients, providing them with a convenient and efficient financial experience.

Supporting enterprises in expanding global markets

BOC has fostered investment attraction and supported international market development, boosting high-quality development in China's foreign trade. The "2026 Bank of China Conference on Empowering Guangdong's Economy – Promoting Going Global and Bringing in Investment" was held on the first day of the Canton Fair. It was also the first activity of BOC's "Go Global, Choose BOC" series.

During the conference, BOC announced its "Go Global, Choose BOC — BOC Integrated Financial Service Solution for Trade-oriented Enterprises Going Global (Guangdong Edition)" alongside a product for overseas account opening to cater to business needs. Its Guangdong branch unveiled the "Integrated Solution for Enterprises Going Global and Bringing in Investment" plus a WeChat mini program called "Overseas E-Travel". By aligning regional characteristics with overseas demands, BOC intends to continue delivering comprehensive solutions from top-level design to targeted financial offerings for expanding enterprises.

At the conference, BOC's Guangdong branch, along with its Macao Branch and Bank of China (Hong Kong), signed cooperation agreements with entities such as the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, overseas business platforms, and chambers of commerce and business associations in Hong Kong and Macao. These collaborations aim to effectively support bringing in investment and going global, boosting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Bank of China will continue to support exhibitors and merchants at the Canton Fair through its extensive services, contributing to the high-quality development of China's foreign trade and opening a new chapter in two-way opening-up.
