Bank of China has arranged a cross-border syndicated loan of over RMB 2 billion for Warburg Pincus, a private equity firm in the United States. The funds will support Warburg Pincus in investing in digital technology companies developing new quality productive forces.
The successful completion of the syndicated loan demonstrates BOC's ability to leverage coordination among its domestic and overseas institutions in cross-border financing. BOC's institutions in Macao acted as the sole lead arranger, coordinating the entire process, including transaction structuring, cross-regional coordination, and end-to-end management. The transaction facilitated the cross-border flow and efficient allocation of renminbi funds, met the company's market-based financing needs, and provided overseas investors with high-quality RMB-denominated assets.
As a benchmark project for BOC's services to industrial funds and its promotion of the cross-border use of RMB, the syndicated loan provides a reference for international investors participating in RMB investment and financing and helps enhance the global appeal of RMB assets.
The collaboration provides a practical model for the Macao Special Administrative Region Government's efforts to develop industrial funds and promote appropriate economic diversification, strongly supporting Macao's high-quality development.
By channeling offshore RMB to domestic technology and innovation companies, the project further expands the use of RMB in cross-border financing.
BOC remains committed to leveraging its expertise in cross-border finance, deepening its engagement in key areas of the cross-border use of RMB, and supporting the country's high-standard opening-up with high-quality financial services.
