Milestone Southeast Asia Transactions: First Islamic Syndicated Financing and Vietnam Brokerage Loan Completed

Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (BOCHK) has completed its first Islamic syndicated financing project disbursement in Brunei, totaling approximately USD 400 million. It has also signed a syndicated loan agreement of approximately USD 500 million with a leading securities firm in Vietnam.

BOCHK serves as BOC's regional headquarters in Southeast Asia. The transactions demonstrate its cross-border financial service and professional syndicated financing capabilities in the region.

The Brunei Branch completed the first Sharia-compliant syndicated loan disbursement for a large local fertilizer plant, supporting Brunei's investment needs in downstream industrial and energy sectors and aiding the country's industrial diversification. 

In addition, BOCHK, together with its Ho Chi Minh City Branch, acted as lead arranger for a USD syndicated loan for a leading Vietnamese securities firm, attracting participation from banks in Europe and Southeast Asia. BOCHK is also the first Chinese-funded bank to provide offshore loans to this client.

BOCHK's business spans nine ASEAN countries, providing integrated services for Chinese mainland enterprises going global and Southeast Asian enterprises. It aims to become a trusted financial partner for enterprises by offering customized, end-to-end integrated financial services for various business scenarios.
