The inauguration ceremony of the China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation Center was held in Beijing on May 24.

As the only financial institution invited to the event, Bank of China introduced its comprehensive financial services to support China-ASEAN artificial intelligence industry cooperation and the construction of the China-ASEAN AI Center.

Addressing the needs of China-ASEAN AI industry cooperation, BOC took the lead in launching a 'Five-in-One' support system centered on 'Selection and Recommendation, Empowerment, Matchmaking, Implementation, and Cooperation', actively providing high-quality comprehensive financial services for regional AI innovation cooperation.

Selection and recommendation

BOC will establish a regular cooperation mechanism with the center's secretariat, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, to strengthen the joint selection and recommendation of key enterprises and key projects.

Empowerment

During the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period, BOC will provide no less than RMB 200 billion in integrated financial support covering equity, loans, bonds, insurance, and leasing for enterprises and key scenarios related to China-ASEAN AI industry cooperation, actively serving the international development of Chinese AI enterprises and supporting ASEAN enterprises in strengthening AI application cooperation with China.

Matchmaking

Leveraging its institutional network and service strengths in ASEAN countries, as well as platforms such as the China-ASEAN Expo and local chambers of commerce and industry associations, BOC will help promote resource matching and industrial cooperation.

Implementation

BOC is committed to working with the center and its partners to promote precise matchmaking in key areas between China's AI capabilities and local enterprises, industrial parks, and key projects in ASEAN, aiming to support the implementation of 50 demonstration projects each year.

Cooperation

BOC will also work with multiple parties to establish an AI investment fund and provide integrated full-chain services combining "investment, investment banking, and commercial banking" for China-ASEAN international AI cooperation.

BOC has served more than 5,000 enterprises in the AI industry chain, with outstanding credit support exceeding RMB 590 billion. It will continue to leverage its global expertise and comprehensive services, coordinate integrated domestic and overseas strengths, increase support for key areas such as AI, actively serve China-ASEAN innovative AI cooperation, and better contribute to regional economic development, industrial upgrading, and people's well-being.
