Bank of China has won the Best Trading Award from the China Beijing Green Exchange, becoming the only commercial bank to receive the accolade, highlighting the market's recognition of BOC's active support for carbon market development and its ongoing efforts to promote green and low-carbon development.

BOC has been deeply involved in the development of the country's carbon market, promoting low-carbon transition and development with high-quality green financial services. During the preparatory phase of the national voluntary greenhouse gas emissions reduction trading market, BOC contributed its expertise to the China Beijing Green Exchange, particularly in trading models and system development, and actively participated in related preparatory work.
In March 2025, BOC participated in the initial batch of transactions involving issued China Certified Emission Reduction (CCER) credits, becoming the first financial institution to engage in the national carbon market through green operational practices.
BOC has closely followed market trends and companies' business needs, maintaining close communication with project owners in areas such as offshore wind power, solar thermal power, and afforestation carbon sinks. Through trading in China Certified Emission Reduction credits, BOC has helped companies monetize emission reductions and provided stable liquidity support for the market.
Throughout 2025, BOC's trading volume in China Certified Emission Reduction credits reached 414,000 metric tons. This achievement demonstrates its commitment to supporting the promotion of national carbon credit standards and the development of a robust carbon pricing mechanism, while also illustrating the role of finance in supporting the green development of the real economy.
