Since the launch of the "BOC Global Payroll Solution" in November 2025, Bank of China has provided overseas payroll services to more than 2,600 Chinese enterprises with overseas operations, covering more than 40 countries and regions. The solution addresses issues such as the complexity and low efficiency of cross-border payroll processes, providing financial support for the global development of enterprises.

Services in Central and Eastern Europe

Bank of China (Central and Eastern Europe) Limited has used payroll services in Hungarian forints as an entry point to provide one-stop overseas payroll solutions for several Chinese manufacturers. In May 2026, using the "BOC Global Payroll Solution," a company paid salaries denominated in forints into the accounts of hundreds of Chinese and foreign employees. This transaction marked the market's first cross-border payroll transaction in forints, setting a high-quality benchmark for overseas payroll services.

Supporting overseas employment

Through coordinated efforts involving its head office, Phnom Penh Branch, and Jiangsu Branch, BOC tailored a cross-border RMB payroll solution for a private garment manufacturing enterprise in Changzhou, Jiangsu province. The institutions worked together efficiently to help the company complete a witnessed account-opening process and successfully execute the first RMB cross-border payroll transaction under the solution nationwide in 2026, solving problems brought by the high standards and strict documentation requirements for opening overseas corporate accounts.

Moreover, using the RMB payroll service as a starting point, BOC Jiangsu Branch approved a special credit line of RMB 80 million for the enterprise, while BOC Phnom Penh Branch simultaneously issued a project loan of USD 10 million, supporting the private enterprise's overseas development.

Optimizing cross-border payroll management

In addition, BOC leveraged the flexible multi-currency payroll capabilities of the "BOC Global Payroll Solution" to design a customized US dollar payroll solution using a non-resident account (NRA) for the overseas project department of a Shanghai-based Chinese enterprise. Previously, the department had long relied on overseas banks for its payroll. The BOC solution shortened the payment processing time from three to five days to 20 minutes for enterprises' employees and saved the company more than RMB 1 million annually in fees. 

Furthermore, BOC provides customized co-branded cards for the company's employees, simplifying salary settlement procedures and helping them better manage exchange-rate risks. Currently, this service covers more than 200 employees, with a cumulative payroll amount exceeding RMB 10 million.
