Ge Haijiao Meets with Djiwandono, Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia and Mantiri, President Director of PT Pertamina

On July 29, Ge Haijiao, chairman of Bank of China Limited, met with Thomas A.M. Djiwandono, deputy governor of Bank Indonesia and Simon Aloysius Mantiri, president director of PT Pertamina (Persero), at BOC's head office in Beijing. They held in-depth discussions on deepening China-Indonesia economic and trade cooperation and promoting the development of Indonesia's offshore RMB market as well as the local RMB clearing bank. Yang Jun, executive vice president of BOC and Irene M. Han, deputy ambassador of Indonesia to China, also attended the meeting.

All parties agreed to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as RMB financing, cross-border transactions, and financial market infrastructure construction. They will work together to expand the use cases for Local Currency Transaction and facilitate growth of the RMB market ecosystem in Indonesia, helping move the bilateral economic, trade, and financial cooperation to the next level.
