The 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) held its opening ceremony in Guangzhou on Oct 14.
Ge Haijiao, chairman of Bank of China (BOC), attended the opening ceremony. Ge exchanged views and built consensus with guests from various countries, and together they offered suggestions for expanding international trade and promoting global development. Huang Xueling, executive vice president of BOC, also attended the event.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Canton Fair. As the only financial institution that has supported the Canton Fair for 70 years, BOC has consistently provided high-standard financial services to support the event, from serving as the on-site bank at the inaugural fair to becoming the fair's global strategic partner.
At this year's event, BOC upgraded its trade services booth and offered global merchants a one-stop service experience under the theme "Technology Empowers Finance, Interaction Connects Scenarios." The services covered technology finance, cross-border finance, overseas business planning, services for visitors to China, and e-CNY.
On the same day, Ge held working talks with Feng Zhonghua, a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Guangdong Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee.
