Title: Customer Service Representative/ Teller

Location: Toronto Downtown Branch

Job Summary: As the primary point of contact for many BOC customers, the CSR/Teller is expected to serve all customers quickly, professionally, and efficiently; improve customer loyalty by identifying opportunities to promote banking products and transaction services to better meet customer needs, fulfilling or referring the opportunity, as appropriate.

Responsibilities and Accountability

  • Greet and answer customers' enquiries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Resolve problems or discrepancies concerning customers' accounts quickly and professionally
  • Create positive customer experience by understanding and meeting customers' service needs accurately and efficiently
  • Process customer cash deposits and withdrawals, cheques, outward remittances, foreign exchange transactions, transfers, bills, credit card payments, money orders, certified cheques and other related banking transactions
  • Obtain and process information required for the provision of services, such as opening accounts
  • Sell travelers' cheques, foreign currency and money orders
  • Sort and file deposit slips and cheques
  • Ensure the confidentiality of the Bank and its customer’s information

Job Specifications

  • Relevant post-secondary education with Diploma/Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Ability to perform tasks in an accurate, efficient and timely manner
  • Proven judgment and decision-making ability with demonstrated integrity and ethical standards
  • Ability to handle difficult customers with diplomacy
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Additional language ability: Cantonese/Mandarin
